This elegant creamer and sugar are beautifully designed with round, bulbous bodies on stepped pedestal bases. The surface has a wonderful, soft matte finish with overall light gilding to both the exterior and interior.

Beautifully engraved "MAL' monograms are on one side of the bodies. Applied around the top edges are bands of fine classical foliate scrolls.

The swing handle to the sugar bowl and applied handle on the creamer are decorated on their ends with beautiful, classical inspired leaf decorations.

These pieces are marked underneath 'D.H. BUELL/ HARTFORD/ 125/ ENGLISH STERLING'. The 'English Sterling' mark is one that has been associated with John Wendt's shop in New York City and these may be from that shop. The sugar bowl measures 4 inches in diameter by just under 2.75 inches high and 5 inches high to the top of the handle. They weigh a combined 10.85 troy ounces and are in excellent antique condition.
