This lovely goblet has a plain, stepped pedestal base and has two rings of finely scored decoration. The bowl of the cup has a beautiful engine-turned decorated surface. A cartouche is engraved:

Williams & Everett were famous Boston art dealers, who continued the gilding business of John Doggett, an important gilder of looking glasses and frames (also an art dealer) in Boston.
This unusual presentation goblet is unmarked by the maker and has the number '16' impressed underneath. It measures 3 inches in diameter by just under 6 inches tall, weighs 4.30 troy ounces and is in excellent antique condition.
