Albert Coles Antique Coin Silver Figural Fish Serving Set, NYC, c. 1850's

This stunning serving set features a large fork and slice in their original box. The intricate design of the handles features intertwined dolphins nestling a baby dolphin below a shell device. This is executed on both the front and backs of the handles.

The blank is bordered with fine beading and is engraved on the front 'Cole'.

Above the outer tines are two small cast dolphins and the surface area of the tines is beautifully engraved.

The shaped blade of the slice also features stunning hand engraved floral and foliate details with scrolls and a dog resting amongst the grass.

This lovely set is marked on the slice with Albert Coles' trademark. The fork and slice measure 9.75 and 12.5 inches long respectively and are in excellent antique condition with a slight bump to the tip of the blade. The box exhibits wear and the leather hinge has separated.
