Shiebler 'Homeric' or 'Medallion' Antique Sterling Silver Shoe Horn, New York City, NY, c. 1880s

This outstanding and rare example of Shiebler's 'Homeric' pattern silver features seven various portrait medallions of increasing sizes. These medallions, along with classically inspired aesthetic movement engraving, are set against a hammered background. It is engraved 'To Ev.'

The curved, long handle actually assists in its ease of use.

This lovely, antique, sterling silver shoe horn is marked with Shiebler's trademark, 'STERLING/ 835.'. It measures 11.25 inches long, weighs 3.50 troy ounces, and is in excellent antique condition.
