Gorham Nautical Antique Sterling Silver Five O'clock Tea Spoons-3, Providence, RI, c. 1888

We have three of these nautically inspired spoons- priced individually. You can order up to 3 in your shopping cart. They were sold as part of a multi-pattern set of 12 (see here) but were also sold individually.

The various spoons exhibit imaginative designs and quality craftsmanship, as do these three examples. These spoons vary slightly due to their hand-made nature and the construction from multiple parts. The shell bowls with barnacles are applied to a coral stem with applied seaweed and crab, which is strengthened with the wrapped sea grass.

Provenance: Private collection. 

All of the spoons are marked with Gorham's trademark and 'STERLING/ 2.' They weigh .45-.60 troy ounces each, measure 5 inches long, and are in very good/ excellent condition.
