William Alexander & Son Scottish Sterling Sugar Tongs, Glasgow, 1871/72

These lovely tongs are executed in the 'Grecian' pattern. They are decorated with shield devices and classically ornamented borders with reeding leading down to the plain pads. 

A script 'JE' monogram is engraved at the elbow.

These antique sugar tongs are fully hallmarked, measure 5.5 inches long, weigh 1.80 troy ounces and are in excellent antique condition.
