John Houle Antique English Sterling Wine Coaster, London, 1811/12

This is a beautiful and elegant wine coaster. It is ornamented with an applied gadrooned border around the top and near its base. The interior bottom is also sterling over a wooden base.  Coasters with sterling bases are invariably of better quality than those with the wooden bases exposed.

The interior is engraved with an original family crest.

Of wonderful quality and made of heavy gauge silver, this coaster can also be used as a stunning candy dish.

This coaster is fully hallmarked around its bottom edge. The interior is marked with the sovereign's head and lion passant. It measures just shy of 6 inches in diameter by 1.5 inches high and is in wonderful condition with very slight wear to the interior.
