Stuart Devlin English Sterling Modern Pitcher with Strainer, London, 1968/69

This stunning, small pitcher is shaped with lovely proportions and sleek, modern lines. The body is executed with a highly polished and reflective surface.

One of Stuart Devlin's signature motifs is an irregular filigree design. Here, it is used to wrap the sides and back of the body leaving the front and spout exposed. The actual filigree has a lovely gold wash and the area in the background is oxidized with warm brown/gold patina.

The top of the pitcher has a pointed pouring spout with a hood covering for straining ice and fruit from your drink.

This wonderful sterling pitcher is fully hallmarked on the back. It measures 5.25 inches across the spout by 6.75 inches tall, weighs 15.35 troy ounces and is in very good antique condition with light wear to the original gilding on the interior.
