Pair of English Sterling Silver Candelabra, Daniel & John Wellby, London 1920/21

Based on an early Queen Anne style, these stunning candelabra feature domed octagonal bases with semi-circular and diamond shaped panels. This bold design is accentuated throughout.  The detachable, 3-arm branches are enhanced with strong architectural elements along the scrolling arms, wide wax pans with reeded edge and attached central finial.

Both the candlesticks and branches are fully hallmarked.  A previous owner also engraved their social security number underneath.

The sticks measure 10.5 inches tall and with the branches measure 15.25 inches high by 13.25 across.  The quality of these candelabra is quite evident.  Not only is the design quite striking, but they also weigh a very impressive 162.05 troy ounces combined and they are in excellent condition.
