Shiebler 'Homeric' or 'Medallion' Antique Sterling Silver Cherry or Fruit Picks - set of 12, New York City, c. 1890's

Shiebler flatware in the 'Homeric' line is quite uncommon and these cherry picks are a rare form.

The individual 2-tine holders with their wide, short handle and long tines are great for serving hors d'oeuvres and cubed fruit or cheese.

The set consists of five medallions in three pairs and two sets of three. The portraits consist of classical warriors and deities. The portraits are surrounded by a pebbled background surrounded by a irregularly hammered background. Above the tines is an engraved 'B' initial.

This stunning set is marked with Shiebler's trademark, 'STERLING' and retailed in New York City by the 'MAUSER MFG CO'. They measure 3.25 inches long, weigh a combined 4.20 troy ounces and are in excellent antique condition. They come with their original Mauser Co. bag.
