Gorham Large Antique Sterling Silver Dogwood Bowl, New York, NY, 1904

1 item left

This lovely bowl is a great example of art nouveau silver. An 'MG'(or 'J') monogram in the plain center contrasts beautifully with the bold, floral design of the border. Large dogwood blossoms amongst swirling stems create a dense and beautiful art nouveau frame for whatever is placed in the bowl.

Made in Gorham's New York City shop, this bowl exhibits the fine handwork and details for which the shop was known. It is an unusually large piece for the New York shop.

This stunning bowl is marked with Gorham's trademark and 'STERLING/ 4740A' and the horseshoe date symbol for 1904. It measures  16.25 inches long by 13 inches wide by 2.25 inches high, weighs 37.10 troy ounces, and is in excellent antique condition.
