Whiting 'Arabesque' Pattern Antique Sterling Silver Gravy Ladle , NYC, NY, c. 1875

The 'Arabesque' pattern is beautiful and ornate. The handle is designed with wonderful details including a griffin holding a cartouche which is engraved with an 'SW' monogram. the reverse of the handle is engraves with an 'S.P.S.' monogram.

The bowl is quite lovely. It has a soft, matte finish covered in gold gilt and is engraved with scrolling, classical design. They shapes are wonderful as is the stunning hand-engraved decoration.

This beautiful ladle is marked with Whiting's trademark, 'Pat. 1875/ Sterling.' It measures 7 inches long, weighs 1.95 troy ounces and is in very good antique condition with light wear to the front monogram.
