This attractive tea caddy is executed in the 'New Empire' pattern which was designed by Charles Osborne, the famous designer who worked for both Whiting and Tiffany & Co.

'New Empire' was a beautiful flatware pattern and examples of complimentary holloware are quite rare. The French-inspired design incorporates classicism with shells and scrollwork along with foliate swags, floral bouquets, and various decorations. The removable cover is engraved 'FC'.

This lovely tea caddy is stamped with Whiting's trademark and 'STERLING/ 3725'. It measures 3 inches wide by 4 inches tall, weighs 5.95 troy ounces and is in very good antique condition.
