Pair Whiting Antique Silver Water Lily Figural Salts, NYC, NY, c. 1890

These wonderful, individual salts are delightful. They are formed as blossoming water lilies rising on their stems from their pads. The pads are beautifully detailed, as are the overlapping flower petals. The cups have a nice matte finish, with the interiors covered in gilt and the outermost exterior petals being gilt.

These small antique salts are marked with Whiting's trademark and 'STERLING/ 9. They measure just shy of 2 inches long by 1.25 inches high, weigh a combined weight of 2.35 troy ounces, and are in excellent antique condition with a bit of wear to the interior gilding.
