Tiffany & Co Antique Sterling Silver Aesthetic Movement Bud Vase, New York, 1872-75

This is a wonderful example of aesthetic design silver from Tiffany & Co.  Although small, is is intricately designed with multiple parts assembled to create this stunning object.  A slender, trumpet-formed neck is flanked with loop handles ornamented with unusual roundels (similar to Tiffany's rare contemporaneous 'Daisy' pattern) ornamented in a floral design.

The circular body with bulbous centers have applied aesthetic design emanating from similar central circular devices.  The plain, circular pedestal base has an applied band foot similar to the decorative cuff around the neck where the handles are joined.  A matte and light gilt finish adds an exotic appearance to the vase.

This beautiful vase is marked underneath 'TIFFANY & CO/ 2588-5757/ STERLING/ m'.  It measures 7 inches high, weighs 4.85 troy ounces and is in excellent antique condition.
