This is an early and exquisite example of early Boston coin silver. The octagonal form is exceptionally executed and made with heavy gauge silver. The raised sides curve outward and are decorated and strengthened by two applied wires around the outer edge. 

Beautiful engraving of repeating floral scenes decorate each of the panels.

This lovely dish is marked underneath 'JONES, BALL & CO/ BOSTON/ PURE SILVER COIN'. It measures 7.75 inches in diameter by 1 inch high, weighs 8.50 troy ounces and is in excellent antique condition.
