These large and elegant candelabra were made by the important Birmingham maker Matthew Boulton. The circular shaped pedestal bases have a robust lobing and fluting design and the columns have classical water leaf decoration. The exquisite tops, each with three curved and outstretched arms, screw into the bases.

The arms are reeded with foliate devices at the midpoint. The detachable bobeches and central flame snuffers are all original. These versatile candelabra can be used as 3 or 4 light candelabra or the bases can be used as single candlesticks if desired.

These lovely antique Sheffield plate candelabra are marked with Boulton's famous double sunburst mark around the bases and also underneath the branch section. Never monogrammed or crested, the sticks measure 13.75 inches high by just under 6.5 inches wide at the bases. With the tops, the candelabra measure 25 inches tall by 16 inches across the arms and are in very good antique condition with some rosing to the highlights.
