Gorham Antique Sterling Silver 'H' Pattern Serving Spoon, Providence, RI, c. 1905

1 item left

This rare 'H' pattern spoon is a wonderful example of art nouveau/ gilded age design. Made of very heavy gauge silver, the handle is executed on both sides with bold foliate and floral art nouveau design.

The pattern is even more developed at the base of the handle and into the bowl. A wonderful leaf creates the deep bowl creating a stunningly artistic scene. Gorham used the 'H' pattern designation for special limited-production flatware items not made in full-line patterns.

Provenance: Private Collection.

This beautiful large serving spoon is marked on the back with Gorham's trademark along with 'H191/ STERLING'. It measures 9.5 inches long, weighs 4.55 troy ounces, has never been monogrammed, and is in excellent antique condition.
