Crosby and Foss Feather Edge Pattern Antique Sterling Silver Tablespoons, Boston, MA, c. 1870s, set of 6

1 item left
This is a lovely set of tablespoons in the beautiful Feather Edge pattern. The straight handle curves down slightly at the top and is bordered with bright-cutting from which it gets its name. This design is based on early English flatware and is referred to as "Old English Feather Edge" which was quite popular c. 1790's.

Engraved on the fronts of the handles are 'H' over 'M+M' monograms.

The Crosby and Foss shop sold wonderful silver and was located in Boston's fashionable Court Square area (demolished today, at the end of State Street near the Old State House).

These wonderful spoons are stamped 'CROSBY & FOSS' and 'STERLING''. They measure 8.5 inches in length, weigh a combined 12.85 troy ounces and are in very good antique condition.
