Gorham Copper & Other Metals Nautical Shell Grape Dish, Providence, RI, c. 1882

1 item left

This rare fruit dish has been professionally repatinated in a stunning rich brown copper color. The varying hues are lovely and show off the silver appliques.

The dramatic handle is a cluster of grapes hanging from a single vine with applied tendrils and silver grape leaves with naturalistic details. Journeying towards the grapes is an applied, small, silver crab. The bowl slopes downward from the front, raised by an applied rock design.

A large crab with great details is applied near the front of the bowl.

This wonderful serving dish is marked underneath with Gorham's trademark for copper and 'GORHAM & CO.' It measures 9.75 front to back by 9 inches wide and is in excellent repatinated condition.
