Hester Bateman George III Antique Sterling Silver 'Sherry' Decanter Label, London, 1786-90

This wonderful crescent shaped label was made by the most famous of England's female silversmithing shops. Engraved across the front is 'SHERRY'. Two pierced holes contain the loops which hold the original chain.

This lovely antique sterling decanter label is nicely hallmarked on the reverse 'HB' along with the sovereign's head and the lion passant. The crescent measures 1.5 inches wide. It weighs .25 troy ounces and is in excellent antique condition.
