Gorham Antique Sterling Silver Berry Bowl, Providence, RI, 1871

This lovely berry or fruit bowl has a lovely pedestal base engraved with an intertwined 'AL' monogram. The shallow bowl has a matte finish to its interior, as does the pedestal base to its exterior. Exceptionally cast masks with looped berries and leaves create dramatic handles.

This lovely bowl is marked with Gorham's trademark and /STERLING/ 595/ D.' It measures 11 inches wide by 8.75 to the top of the handles, weighs 37.65 troy ounces, and is in very good condition with a few very slight dimples in the bowl from use.
