Gorham Antique Sterling Silver 'Hizen' Pattern Preserve Spoon, Providence, RI, c. 1880

The combination of aesthetic movement styling and exotic foliage is quite striking.  A stunning shell bowl with a textured edge and the use of parcel gilding is just magnificent. Rising up the handle as the design unfolds is a lovely display of foliage and flowers with a crab below two male figures.

This stunning serving spoon is marked on the back with Gorham's trademark along with 'STERLING.' It measures 6.75 inches long, weighs 1.65 troy ounces, and is in excellent antique condition.
