Swirling foliate decoration and scrolls flow down the handle of this spoon. The detailed nature of the pattern is well represented in this very crisp example. Fitting for a berry spoon, the bowl is decorated with repousséd strawberries and leaves, once again in very crisp condition.

Cashmere is a pattern that we rarely see today (especially in this condition), but which reinforces Wood & Hughes's reputation as a very good maker.

This wonderful serving spoon measures 9 inches long by 2.45 inches wide in the bowl. Along the back, the handle is marked with Wood & Hughes trademark, "STERLING" "PAT. 1878" and "T & E Dickinson" the Buffalo, NY retailer. It weighs 2.3 troy ounces and is in excellent antique condition.
