S. Kirk & Son Antique Coin Silver "Mayflower" Ice Cream or Fish Server, Baltimore, MD, 1846-61

Notify me when similar is available:

A very early example of Kirk's "Mayflower" pattern, this server was originally intended for fish or ice cream but could be used for many things including pastry or entrees. Lady Justice is beautifully engraved in the oval reserve on the blade, making us think it was likely owned by a judge or other legal professional.  The reserve on the handle is engraved with a "MAR" monogram.

Provenance: Collection of Dale Bennett

This wonderful server measures 9.75 inches long and is marked "S. KIRK & SON" and "10.15" (coin silver).  It weighs 2.65 troy ounces and is in very good antique condition.
