This beautiful server is a beautiful and rare design. The top of the handle reminds me of a bulls-eye mirror and is quite striking, and this very rare pattern has tentatively been named "Mirror." The shaped, gilt blade is decorated with lovely classical scroll engraving.

Provenance: Collection of Dale E. Bennett.

Literature: "Further Observations on John Wendt Silver" in Silver Magazine, Nov/ Dec 2004, illustrated p. 30.

This rare server is marked by the NYC retailer 'BALL, BLACK & Co.' and with the sterling standard '925.' It measures 9.25 inches long, weighs 2.25 inches long and is in excellent antique condition.
