J. E. Caldwell Antique Sterling Silver Buckwheat Pancake or Pastry Server, Philadelphia, c. 1880

This is a beautiful, flat bladed server. It is larger than most buckwheat pancake servers and could serve a multitude of foods.

The handle is beautifully hand-engraved with various designs and flowers. It has a lovely 'MCA' engraved monogram.

The large, shaped blade has stunning, engraved birds in flight.

This unusual server is marked on the back 'J.E. CALDWELL & CO/ STERLING. It measures 9.5 inches long, weighs 3.35 troy ounces and is in very good antique condition.
