This example of Durgin's Chrysanthemum' pattern is stunning. The handle, also decorated on its reverse, exhibits dense flowers and foliage surrounding a cartouche engraved 'ECR.' The 5-tines have a line of flowers spreading across them and are robustly decorated with beautiful chrysanthemums around the shoulders. Enhancing its beauty is the wonderful original gilding to the front and the back of the tines. The fork is large and can be used for serving many foods.

This stunning server is marked with Durgin's trademark and 'STERLING/ 925-1000/ PATENT' and by the Brooklyn retailer 'Wm WISE & SON.' It measures just shy of 9.75 inches long, weighs 6.60 troy ounces and is in excellent antique condition.
