The exceptional quality for which Duhme & Co is so renowned is exhibited with this set of dinner forks. Made from heavy gauge silver, the handles are executed with a lovely twist stem and flattened top. Engraved foliate scrolls decorate the fronts of the handles and the backs are engraved with an Old English 'T' initial.

The high relief applied portrait medallions against a stippled background depict a classical helmeted warrior.

These forks are in their original, silk-lined fitted case stamped 'Duhme & Co./ Cincinnati, Ohio'. There is wear to the fabric and outside leather.

Duhme & Co. was from Cincinnati, Ohio and made wonderful silver. Herman Duhme was born in Germany in 1819. From humble beginnings, Duhme built the finest silversmith and jewelry establishment in Cincinnati; they were known as 'the Tiffany of Cincinnati'. Their items are uniformly well made, usually with interesting design features.

These stunning coin silver dinner forks are stamped 'DUHME & CO'. They measure 7.5 inches long, weigh a combined 20.65 troy ounces and are in excellent condition.
