Eoff & Shepard Pair of Rare Coin Silver Decanter Labels, New York City, 1852-60

Notify me when similar is available:

Practically all decanter labels found on the market were produced in England. These labels are exceedingly rare examples of early American coin silver in this form.

The stamped surface of each label is executed as a stunning grape leaf growing from a grape vine. Attached to the grape vines are oval link chains. This type of chain was popular during the 2nd half of the 19th century and these may be original.

The leaves are hand-pierced 'SHERRY' and 'BRANDY'.

These stunning antique decanter labels are stamped on the reverse 'E&S' within a rectangle. They measure 2.5 inches wide by 2.25 inches tall, weigh a combined .70 ounces and are in excellent condition.
