This is a beautiful garniture set consisting of a centerpiece bowl and two pedestal side dishes. The surfaces are hand-hammered to give them a reflective sparkle. The bowl and side dishes are decorated on their outer rims with lovely hand-hammered banding. The bowl also incorporates this modern banding as an applied foot. The side dishes have hollow circular stem bases which, when inverted, can be used to hold wide candles.

The underside of the bowl is inscribed 'Made expressly for/ Mr and Mrs Kenneth Gordon Sandbach/ May 25, 1963'. According to the New York Times, the date was when Kenneth Gordon Sandbach married Marylou Bondon.

Silver by William Schroth is very rare. He worked for Tiffany & Co and opened up his own shop in Montville, New Jersey, and some of his work was retailed by Cartier.

This lovely three piece suite is marked on the back of the bowl 'Schroth/ HAND MADE/ STERLING'. The bowl measures 9.75 inches in diameter by just over 1.75 inches high. The side dishes measure 4.25 inches in diameter by 2.25 inches high. the set weighs a combined 30.85 troy ounces and is in excellent condition.
