William Brown George IV Antique Sterling Silver Claret Label, London, 1826/27

This wonderful decanter label has a cast, curved surface and is executed as an oval-shaped wreath of grape bunches and leaves. Attached to the grape vine is a likely original circular link chain. Pierced across the front is 'CLARET', the English term for Bordeaux wines.

This beautiful antique decanter label is fully hallmarked on the back. As these labels were sometimes marked before pierced, some of the markings are partially lacking. It measures 2.5 inches wide by 1.75 inches tall, weighs .85 troy ounces and is in excellent condition.
