Retailed by Tiffany & Co, this rare form in Gorham's famous 'Medallion' line features a shaped rim with two wonderful cast and applied portrait medallions: a woman on one side and a man wearing a helmet on the other. Each end features an angular bifurcated handle with two more medallions on each side.
Against a stippled background, these classical reliefs have stunning detail. The bowl's rim and the base above the four splayed feet are decorated with lovely Greek key banding. One side bears an original 'Z.T.D.' monogram.
This beautiful oval centerpiece bowl is marked underneath with Gorham's trademark, by the retailer 'TIFFANY & CO,' with the model '295' and a star. It measures 13.75 inches across the handles by 8 inches deep by 5 inches high, weighs 25.05 troy ounces, and is in excellent antique condition.
