Katherine Pratt Sterling Silver Tea Caddy Spoon, Boston, MA, c. 1920

Notify me when similar is available:

This is a lovely Arts & Crafts sterling tea caddy spoon by Katherine Pratt from Dedham, a suburb of Boston. The naturalistic display features a twig handle (this may be a clever 'P' initial) attached to a heart-shaped leaf with a jagged edge. This bowl is polished on the front and beautifully hammered on the reverse.

Katherine Pratt was one of only eight silversmiths to receive the prestigious ‘Medalist’ award from the Society of Arts & Crafts in Boston, and the only female silversmith to do so. She is generally regarded as one of the preeminent female silversmiths of the American arts and crafts movement, and her silver is rarely seen on the market today.

This lovely sterling silver caddy spoon is marked ‘PRATT/ STERLING.’  It measures just over 3.75 inches long, weighs .50 troy ounces and is in excellent antique condition.
