Tiffany & Co Antique Sterling Silver Mounted Rock Crystal Centerpiece Bowl, NYC, c. 1908

This exceptional centerpiece was originally designed for fruit. The shaped crystal body is beautifully 3-dimensional with a combination of pressed and cut glass details. The design of the glass is grapevines with leaves and bunches of grapes traveling around the body.

With fine acid-etched and hand-engraved decoration in the area above the twisted grapevine border, the applied sterling rim is also a work of art. The inside of the rim is engraved 'Sara'.

Another clever detail incorporated into the bowl is the continuation of the design from the sterling to the glass. To the left of the mark, an engraved grapevine travels downward and the design is continued in the glass.

The collar is marked 'TIFFANY & Co MAKERS STERLING SILVER m/ 17119'. According to Tiffany Silver by Carpenter, the pattern number indicates it was designed in 1908, a year after the small "m" mark was introduced. This beautiful bowl measures 9.5 inches round by 4 inches high and is in very good antique condition.
