These rare servers are some of the loveliest flatware we have ever seen. A soft gold gilt surface covers the fronts and backs of the pieces.
A stunning design of flowers and strawberries with incredible detailing decorates the handles. Various colors are incorporated into the design.

The strawberry flowers are sterling with the interior pistils being gold gilt. Surrounding these scenes are a lightly hammered texture surface. Similar designed scenes above the tines of the fork and within the oval bowl of the spoon are exceptional.

Shreve & Co were one of the great silversmithing firms of the late 19th and early 20th centuries in San Francisco. They made silver of incredible design and quality.

Provenance: Louise Tevis Breckenridge Sharon.

These amazing servers are marked 'GEO.C.SHREVE&CO/ SAN FRANCISCO/ STERLING' along with their 'bee' mark. They must have done some traveling as they also bear a French import mark. They measure 10.5 inches long, weigh a total 7.40 troy ounces and are in excellent condition.
