This is a beautiful example of arts & crafts silver. The navette shaped body exhibits a wonderfully hammered surface. One side is engraved 'B.K.B./ June 19, 1913'. The detachable cover is decorated with a wonderful, carved coral rose held in place by applied branches and leaves which appear to be hand formed. The carved coral is appropriately rose colored with a white highlight.

This lovely and very rare sterling silver box is marked 'HAND WROUGHT/ AT/ THE KALO SHOPS/ CHICAGO/ AND/ NEW YORK/ STERLING/ E119'. It measures 3.5 inches long by 1.5 inches deep by 1.25 inches high, weighs 2.55 troy ounces and is in very good/excellent antique condition.
