These extremely rare candlesticks feature a spectacular, nautical-inspired design. Made from multiple pieces, they retain their original, removable bobeches.

The cup of the candlestick incorporates shells against wavy seagrass backgrounds flanked by large leaves. The bobeche is designed with scrolling devices between shells.

Travelling down the columns, the next sections are bold designs of coral. They have irregular surfaces and spiral channeling, one of the elements that conveys movement.

The lower halves of the columns consist of four stunning dolphins with their bodies intertwined with each other. Based on renaissance models, the detailing of the faces and scales is wonderful.

The bases also convey movement with wave-inspired designs emanating from the columns. The edges of the bases decorated with bold shells and scroll devices which match the bobeche in a much larger and more dramatic scale.

These remarkable sticks are works of art. They are incredibly sculptural, detailed and beautiful.

Each of the bobeches and bases are fully hallmarked. The bases also are engraved with a old English style 'E' initial. The bases measure just over 6.5 inches in diameter and they are 12.5 inches high. They are in excellent condition with one tiny seam and one bobeche having been very nicely restored.
