Gorham Antique Sterling Silver Figural Long-handled Olive Server, Providence, Ri, c. 1870

This very rare olive server has a long silver rod to which a platform is attached with the engraved initials 'JMC'. Perched atop is a cast figure of a squirrel eating a nut. At the other end, a small, round, gilt bowl with circular piercings and jagged teeth is adorned with three ivy leaves.

This beautiful and fun server is marked with Gorham's trademark and 'STERLING'.  It measures 12 inches long, weighs 1.25 troy ounces and is in very good antique condition.
