George Sharp Antique Sterling Silver 'Gothic Dome' Sauce Ladle, Philadelphia, PA, 1866-72

This sweet ladle is beautifully made of multiple parts with a decorative Gothic Dome design at the top of the beaded, curved handle. In addition, the wonderfully gilt, helmet-shaped bowl features a winged creature at the back of the bowl. Due to its size, this ladle would have been used most likely for dessert sauces.

This lovely, small ladle is marked with Sharp's trademark and 'Patent 1866.' It measures 7.5 inches long, weighs 1.50 troy ounces, and is in excellent antique condition.
