Wood & Hughes Antique Sterling Silver Figural Pie Server, NYC, NY, c. 1870

This impressive pie server by wood & Hughes features a beautifully cast caryatid handle based on Italian Renaissance design.  She is beautifully modeled and in wonderfully crisp condition.  The shaped blade is nicely engraved, parcel-gilt, and has a decorative foliate applique at the back with spreading supports.

Measuring 10.25 inches long, this server is marked 'W&H'. It weighs 4 troy ounces and is in excellent condition with slight wear to the gilding.
