Whiting Antique Sterling Silver with Enamel Box, NYC, c. 1890s

Notify me when similar is available:

This wonderful small box is of typical form with a removable cover. Applied around the upper edge of the body are designs containing white, blue and turquoise enamel.

The cover incorporates this same design around its outer edge. The interior design is a beautiful foliate display of swirling leaves executed in green, yellow, turquoise, orange and purple enamels.

This lovely box is marked on the rim with Whiting's trademark and 'STERLING/ 1178'. It measures 2.75 inches wide by 2.25 inches high, weighs 4.20 troy ounces and is in very good antique condition with a tiny piece of white enamel missing from the body (seen in last picture above).
