Tiffany Sterling Silver Art Deco Pie Server, NYC, C. 1940's

This lovely server is an uncommon example of American art deco flatware. It is a heavy and striking design of four oranges atop a line of beading going down to the long, pointed blade. The reverse of the handle is decorated with leaves and a cartouche which has never been monogrammed.

Tiffany introduced this pattern at the 1939 world's fair in New York City. It has been given various names over the years, but as it never became a full line pattern and Tiffany never named it, it is today best known as "Exhibition."

This wonderful server is marked 'TIFFANY & Co/ STERLING/ PAT/ m'. It measures 12 inches long and weighs 4.95 troy ounces. It is in very good/ excellent antique condition with overall light scratching from normal use.
