This sauce or gravy ladle is in a very rare pattern which features a shaped handle and a fantastic cast and 3-D applied steer head executed with stunning details. A cow bell hangs below. The back of the handle is engraved with an 'HB' monogram.

This wonderful ladle is marked '925' along with the New York City retailer 'BALL, BLACK & CO.' It is not marked by the maker but was most likely made by John Wendt. It measures just shy of 7 inches long, weighs 2.35 troy ounces and is in very good antique condition.
