Gorham Antique Sterling Overlay Art Nouveau Flask, Providence, RI, c. 1906

Notify me when similar is available:

This flask is a great example of art nouveau silver created just after the turn of the 20th century. The reserve is beautifully engraved with the name 'MAX,' and the rest of the flask is enveloped with swirling foliage and lines, creating wonderful movement. To protect the glass, the bottom is cased with solid silver, and the silver design is also incorporated into the sides. The interior neck and hinged cover retain their original gilding.

This wonderful flask is marked with Gorham's trademark and 'STERLING/ D1270/ 30/ 3/8 PT.' The sterling mark is under the hinge on its collar. It measures 5.75 inches long by just over 3 inches wide and is in excellent antique condition.
