Gorham Antique Sterling Silver Child's Cup, Providence, RI, 1879

Engraved lines create a beautiful, craquelure background for this wonderful child's cup. An engraved parallelogram shows three sailboats at sea. Other design elements include  a stippled circle with an engraved bird on a branch and a fan engraved with the lucky recipient of this cup: 'G.L. McKee.' Each side of the cup is further engraved with wonderful plants and butterflies.

This rare cup is marked with Gorham's trademark, "STERLING/ 1907, " and the 1879 "L" date mark. It measures 4.25 inches across the handle by just over 3.5 inches tall, weighs 5.60 troy ounces, and is in excellent antique condition.
