Joseph Seymour & Son "Duchess" Pattern Serving Fork, Syracuse, NY, c. 1880

A beautiful server in a very rare pattern, this serving fork displays a wonderful ornate pattern along with aesthetic movement bright-cut decoration on the tine end.  It is monogrammed "MMM" in the oval reserve.

Seymour ran one of the more interesting and successful silversmithing firms of upstate New York. This piece is a very nice example of his excellent design work even if it is a bit light (not uncommon for his shop).
