Whiting Antique Sterling Aesthetic Movement Coffee Spoons, set of 8, NYC, NY, c. 1880

We have never seen this design before, and these coffee or demitasse spoons are adorable. The bowls have a blossoming peony or chrysanthemum and the handles have exotic birds amongst leaves and branches. The background is stippled and the edges are ruffled.

These lovely spoons are marked with Whiting's trademark and 'STERLING/ 12.' They measure just over 4 inches tall, weigh a combined 2.70 troy ounces and are in excellent condition.
