Aspic servers are very uncommon, and this is a wonderful pattern first designed by John Polhamus. Shiebler 'bought out the business of John Polhamus in 1877'. It's a lovely design of a pointed cartouche bordered with a garland. Its interior is monogrammed 'F.A.N'. The blade exhibits a gorgeous display of foliate engraving.

This wonderful server is marked on the back with Shiebler's 'GW' intertwined with an 'S' mark and 'STERLING/ PAT 74'. It measures 8.75 inches long, weighs 1.85 troy ounces and is in excellent antique condition.
