Shiebler 'Chrysanthemum' Sterling Serving (Asparagus?) Fork, NYC, c. 1890

This beautiful server features a display of chrysanthemums at the top - a great example of Shiebler's floral designs. According to Shiebler's design patent (No. 17,044, dated Dec. 28, 1886), these are "Japanese chrysanthemums." The bold shape of the trident fork is also stunning.

This wonderful serving fork is marked with Shiebler's trademark and 'STERLING/ PATENT.' It measures just shy of 8.5 inches long, weighs 2.65 troy ounces, has never been monogrammed and is in excellent antique condition.
